2004 Chico Classic

The 2004 Chico Classic saw very light air. The Race Committee managed to get two races off on Saturday and one on Sunday. The Chico Cats put on their usual great raffle on Saturday evening, and a keg of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale helped keep the racer's minds off the poor conditions. The results are posted here.

Schedule Update

Welcome to the new 2004 season. The fact that the Hobie Corporate has excluded all non Hobie boats from their Regattas this year has not dampened our spirits. We officially have four regattas this year. Hopefully we will add two more, the Commodores Regatta and the Full Moon Regatta. The dates for these regattas will be posted as soon as they become available. Being we have a somewhat reduced schedule, we encourage all members to try to make all the regattas this year.

The 2004 yearly banquet was held this past November in Nevada City, CA. The food was good, the wine was good, and the company was the best. Congratulations to Jim Maskaly for becoming the sail of the year for 2004.

Sunday in Rio Vista
After two years of “lighter than usual” winds, Rio Vista decided to show her true self.  Saturday’s winds were 25-30 mph and were accompanied by larger than usual waves.  Full results are here.

Whitecaps Goes the Distance
A fast and furious race committee was able to get in 8 great races over the weekend. Full results are here.

Eagle Lake
  Eagle Lake
challenged racers with it’s typical shifty breezes for 2 days of outstanding sailing.
